Early Summer Gardens of the South West

 

11th-18th May, 2008 and an additional opportunity to visit Chelsea Flower Show

 

  • Transport arranged from Bristol airport which is the new location for Continental Airlines daily flights from New York

  • An opportunity to study the Royal Horticultural Society garden at Rosemoor
  • Be entertained to afternoon tea and a private tour by one of our premier Countesses in her sumptuous home
  • Visit the inspirational garden and creekside behind Daphne du Maurier’s ‘House on the Strand’ and a 30 acre estate with over 5500 plants
  • Find the ‘Lost Gardens of Heligan’ and then visit the Georgian walled gardens of Bosvigo nearby before a visit to one of the most spectacular gardens of Cornwall – Trebah
  • See for yourself the tranquil and sub-tropical gardens of the Roseland peninsula before a private visit to Yarlington House, home of the Count and Countess Charles de Salis and a tour of their lovely garden
  • Visit the award winning gardens of Snape Cottage and enjoy traditional cream tea in the peaceful hills of the Blackmore Vale
  • Enjoy a private guided tour with the ‘Naked Gardener’ of BBC fame, Ian Pollard, and meet his charming and lovely wife Barbara, who will introduce us to their medieval Abbey House next door to Malmesbury Abbey
  • Visit the 14 acre haven of Ridley’s Cheer and enjoy a private lunch before a sightseeing tour of Bath
  • For those who wish, spend a couple of days in London visiting the Chelsea Physic Garden and Upton Grey, before the ultimate finale, tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

 

This specially created programme will be strictly limited to a maximum of 16 guests.  Private transport will be provided from Bristol airport throughout (other arrival points will be subject to supplemental charges).

The cost of the programme will be £2600 per person, with a supplement of £650 per person payable for those who wish to extend their stay for the London programme which excludes London accommodation.  We do, however, have a variety of recommended guest houses and hotels within central London which we highly recommend and will be pleased to arrange for our guests.  A deposit of 25% of the total amount payable secures your booking, accepted in US$ cheques or bank transfers.  No credit cards are accepted.
